DESCRIPTION
This Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI is a very usable example of the desirable rally-derived Japanese performance hero, benefitting from an underbody restoration in 2019.
Under the bonnet sits a turbocharged 2.0-litre ‘4G63’ inline-four, delivering around 276bhp to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
The odometer shows 100,612 miles from new.
The Evo VI introduced a number of improvements over its predecessor, including a larger intercooler and oil cooler, new pistons, and enlarged ducts in the front bumper to further aid cooling.
This example is finished in rare Pyrenees Black Pearl over a black synthetic suede-trimmed interior, featuring blue perforated cloth seat inserts.
It rides on a set of 17-inch OZ Racing multi-spoke alloy wheels, framing red Brembo callipers, and shod in Continental SportContact 5 tyres.
The factory specification includes a Mitsubishi-branded Momo steering wheel, Recaro front bucket seats, electric windows, a digital clock, automatic climate control, and electrically adjustable door mirrors.
This Evo VI now features a Sony CD stereo, a Cusco Racing front strut brace, a sports catalytic converter, and an alloy radiator.
The car comes with a jack, the original owner’s handbook, the V5C, tools, a collection of maintenance invoices and MOT certificates, and a full service history.
The rally-inspired cherished registration ‘T66 WRC’ is included in the sale.
This Evo VI’s most recent engine oil and filter change was in September 2022 by AJ Retros.
A new Aeroquip hose was fitted in November 2021 by AJ Retros.
Another engine oil and filter change was carried out in October 2020 by Mitsiart.
Other notable maintenance includes a full underbody restoration in 2019, a full exterior respray, the cam belt replaced in January 2020 at 93,013 miles, and a sports catalytic converter and the alloy radiator fitted.
This Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI is a smart, very usable example of the sought-after modern classic, benefitting from previous restorative maintenance. Presented in the lesser-seen Pyrenees Black Pearl finish, and enhanced with a few subtle upgrades, it would make a fun addition to any assembly of Japanese performance heroes.
